The Yukon Arts Centre depends largely on volunteers for its successful operation. We need some of your time so that we can continue to offer great shows and exhibitions to the community.

Volunteering is a great opportunity to make new friends, see the shows, learn something along the way and have a good time.

Our volunteer voucher plan lets you and your friends see shows for free when you're not volunteering.

Public Art Gallery

What you can do...

Front of House Teams take care of the audience. They welcome people, check coats, and assist people during the performance. FOH volunteers are the hosts for the Yukon Arts Centre.

Security volunteers ensure the safety of our audience and protect the building.

Box Office volunteers help with the business end of front of house management. They get people into their seats as smoothly as possible.

Bar and Concession volunteers serve food and beverages to customers.

Art Gallery Monitors keep the gallery open. Without them, it would be difficult to open the gallery during performance evenings and on the weekend. These volunteers help viewers enjoy exhibitions and protect the artwork.

Tech Crew volunteers run the theatre. These volunteers take up positions as stage managers, production crew, lighting technicians and sound technicians. They work directly with visiting artists and production staff.

The Yukon Arts Centre is also looking for gallery, art education and marketing volunteers.

What our volunteers say...

"It's a great place, I really like being a part of the energy that happens here during performances."

"I love the peacefulness of the gallery... just being in here surrounded by all the artwork... it makes me feel good."

"I've been volunteering since the place opened... its just part of my life."

"My kids are in music and drama... being a volunteer is just something I do to support the Centre so it can provide learning opportunities for my kids".

"The learning opportunities are fantastic. Running the light board for a big show can be a pretty steep challenge."

"I'm picking up production management skills that will help me in preparing for a new career."

"Volunteering gets me out at night!"
