to the Yukon Arts Centre is a non-profit organization with a mandate to present and develop
the arts in the Yukon. Art appreciation and education are the key values guiding
the work of the Yukon Arts Centre. Presentations
As the territory's premiere arts facility, the Yukon Arts Centre regularly hosts
local performing groups, troupes and artists, as well as presents
world-class artists, inspiring performers, internationally acclaimed dance and
theatre companies. With a technical crew unrivaled in the North, the Yukon Arts
Centre is truly your window into the northern world of arts and entertainment.
What's playing? Exhibitions
The Yukon Arts Centre is home to a 4,200 square foot Public
Art Gallery which hosts 10-14 exhibits each year. Gallery exhibitions include
major travelling national and international shows as well as local exhibitions.
The Public Art Gallery showcases the works of professional Yukon artists and brings
exhibitions of national and international importance to the Yukon. What's

Education The Yukon Arts
Centre is a community leader in arts education programming. Our children's programs,
grouped under the umbrella "Kidz Art" serve youth
and children of all ages throughout the Yukon. We also work actively with all
Yukon schools to develop art education programs. |
Cultural Development The Yukon
Arts Centre works closely with community arts organizations, groups and artists
for the development of the arts and of a cultural economy in the Yukon. This involves
providing support for groups such as ArtsNet,
Partners in Arts Education, Artspace North and Arts Underground.
The Yukon Arts Centre also administers Culture Quest,
an art creation program funded by Yukon Tourism and Culture, and manages The
Old Fire Hall. Artspace North
Artspace North is an independant group of businesses and organizations with the
common vision of developing arts and cultural space in downtown Whitehorse.
